Do You Use an Email Client?Many people ask us "Am I able to use SpamPopper?" If you are using one of the "Email Clients" that SpamPopper supports then the answer is an enthusiastic "Yes!". But how do you know if you are using an Email Client or some other form of Email retrieval? Email Client vs. Web-based EmailEmail Clients are programs that you run on your computer. They download your Email messages and then display them, usually in a list, for you to view and manage. When you are using an Email Client program, you usually do not have to "Login" to retrieve your Email messages. This process is handled automatically by your Email Client program.
Web-based Email is slightly different in that you don't actually run a separate program to view your Email messages. Instead you open your Web Browser (such as Internet Explorer or Netscape) to a specific website. You must then "Login" before you can view your Email messages. Can I use SpamPopper with my Web-based Email?The answer is .. maybe. Some Internet Service Providers (ISPs) provide both methods of accessing your Email messages. If you can install and configure one of the Email Clients that SpamPopper supports, then you can use SpamPopper.
If your ISP only supports Web-based Email and you are still receiving Spam, then you need to contact them directly to find out how to rid yourself of Spam. Most ISPs that support Web-based Email also now have their own means of stopping Spam before it gets to your Email Inbox. I use an Email Client.
